Gov. Huckabee does a great job explaining the FairTax. I hope President Obama has taken the time to really study H.R. 25 the FairTax bill. I know for some strange reason this has become a partisan bill. This bill will help all Americans not just Republicans. I’m a Democrat and I’m sure it will help our family. With the state our economy is in, President Obama should give this bill some real consideration. Talk about a stimulus package; everyone receives their gross paycheck and a prebate “stimulus” check at the beginning of each month. A family of four would receive over $500 at the beginning of each month. This alone will pay a huge portion of their mortgage payment, thus preventing many, would be foreclosures. Honest taxpaying Americans are getting tired of making up the revenue that is lost because of the huge group of people living in our country who don’t contribute one dime to support our Federal Government.

Thanks for posting the video. I think this is the time to go to the Fair Tax. Things are so bad, why not?

And in my opinion, the Income tax has put us in our current crisis by distorting the economy over the last 50 years.

Sooner or later, I think we will go to the Fair Tax, it is just how far we will let things go before they do.

Kudos to Huckabee for his support.

    Steve,
First off, congratulations on even finding this article to comment on! As you can tell, I’m in the process of updating this website’s look and feel and will eventually go after new content…for now it’s really just my old Huckabee blog. I just happened to be testing this video feature yesterday and put this up. The internet never ceases to amaze me!
Anyway, your comment is exactly correct. I wish both sides could just leave the partisan garbage aside and pass what is a very good bill in the FairTax. I don’t care if Obama gets full credit for it so long as it is done. It amazes me when I listen to the rhetoric surrounding our current economic situation. The bill that the House already voted on does very little to address the problems that both sides identify. The FairTax addresses most of them.
The economy won’t be fixed by continuing to encourage debt and spending. We needs to unlease productivity by not punishing it as the current code does, but also encourage savings and investment to get us back on the right track again. The spending boom was nice and brought some good growth, but it is unsustainable.
Anyway, thanks for posting and check back in a little while. I’ll be working on this some more and then go “public” again.
    Cheers,
    Christian….aka admin.

Curtis… ditto to you as well. (Your post ended up in spam for some reason) Cheers for the comments.
I can’t believe I add one new post and suddenly people are posting again. This is awesome. :)

    Admin.

Almost daily, for the past 5 or 6 years, I have been handing out info on the FairTax. It amazes me how many people have not yet heard of the FairTax. It would be great if Gov. Huckabee could create a DVD similar to the video on your website. I know the FairTax books have really helped to spread the word, but a DVD would do even more.

    Steve,
Kudos for your work with the FairTax. I’m not sure where you are, but here in SC the movement is definately making an impact. Four years ago you could ask 100 people about the FairTax and maybe 4 or 5 had even heard of it. Today, I’d say perhaps 40 would have heard of it, with half of those able to say at least elementarily what it is. Progress indeed.
Great idea on the DVD. FairTax.org did a video years ago called “It’s Time”. It’s a little cheesy and dated, but did a great job at setting up a discussion. You can view it on youtube here:

I’m sure they still have some available if you contact them…you can make all the copies you want. It actually fits on a CD as well, though DVD’s don’t cost as much as they used to.
    Good luck!
