As many of you know, I've been spending an inordinate amount of time over at the Huck's Army forums.  The site is so much more than just a forum though.  If you go to HucksArmy.com, you will find a complete video collection of the best Huckabee moments, a pledge form for weekly donating, and a list of 16 things you can do now to help Mike.

Huck's Army - Why You Should Join

With the surge of support for the Mike Huckabee for President campaign there has been a flurry of grassroots and media interest in Huckabee's campaign. This has created a huge opportunity for the grassroots supporters of Mike Huckabee to unite together, organize and recruit more supporters to the cause. With Republican Primary season looming in January it is critical to organize now.

Why an Army?

The Army is as good an analogy as any other. If we continue with our analogy, we are preparing to go into battle for our candidate Mike Huckabee. We can choose to organize in different ways. For example, we could all go into battle on our own - solo if you will. However, this is a hard way to do battle. We could organize ourselves into small "militias" or small grassroots groups. However, the best way to organize ourselves is as an Army. We can band together as one united grassroots for Mike Huckabee. Together we can share the best ideas. We can choose the best weapons to fight for our candidate. Together we can face the opposition. Nobody has to go it alone or face the battle without the proper arms. We can benefit as a grassroots from the experience, ideas and successes of all of our members which saves us valuable time, prevents duplication of effort, and allows us to take successful, field-tested strategies and use them in the fight.

The Power of Focus

The Internet is a big place. Any one grassroots effort, any web site, any blog, etc. by itself has an impact, but it is easy to get lost in the crowd. If you do a search for Huckabee Grassroots on Google, you will currently see that Huck's Army appears at the top of the results. People tend to focus their attention narrowly - whether it be on Google search results, grassroots efforts, etc. Knowing that humans have limited attention spans, limited time and resources, we can take advantage of this knowledge and focus our efforts. The power of focus allows us to maximize the return of our time invested. By concentrating our grassroots focus on Huck's Army we avoid having our grassroots efforts lost in the crowd.

Espirit de Corps

Espirit de Corps is defined by yourDictionary.com as:

"group spirit; sense of pride, honor, etc. shared by those in the same group or undertaking"

By joining Huck's Army you will enjoy the benefits of being part of a group, enjoying a group spirit, and sharing in a common cause with others who hold beliefs similar to your own. A political campaign can be challenging, and it is nice to face this challenge with others in support of a common cause and for a set of shared beliefs.
