As a guy who was never really popular growing up, I understand what it feels like to be rejected. I don't necessarily post this with a jubilant heart. With the exception of some policy differences that are important to me (illegal immigration and the FairTax), I like Sam Brownback. It seems though that he is answering the question oft asked: "What if you threw a party and no one showed up"? That appears to be what is happening with his campaign. This picture isn't a one time snapshot either, it happens routinely, like it did in York, SC about two or three weeks ago.
Senator Brownback, for the sake of the Conservative movement, please drop out of the race and endorse Governor Huckabee. With your bases combined, it would catapult his campaign into new territory. In a way, you would have more of an impact on the Presidential race (and in advocating your beliefs) by doing the honorable thing and recognizing defeat.

Christian,
I like what you wrote about Senator Brownback. Even though he’s run a pretty negative campaign, it’s tough not to feel for the guy and cringe when you look at that picture. Hopefully, he’ll caulk this up as experience and go back to being a good senator.
We’re right in your old stompin’ grounds. We live in the Brandon area, and my folks spend their winters over in Polk County so we’ve been to Lakeland several times. We’ve never been to Charlotte, but took an autumn vacation to the Smoky Mts; it was such an incredibly beautiful area we were ready to move up there.
Ya, I feel for people, even those I disagree with or don’t support. It’s sort of like the loser of the Super Bowl. I really feel sorry for those guys.
Small world. Yep, I did 6th grade at Scott Lake Elementary in Lakeland. Was homeschooled for 5th grade the year we moved there. I lived in what was the Yogi Bear campground off of I-4. Don’t know if it’s still there or not.
The Carolina’s are wonderful. I’m what’s called a “halfback”. I went from up north to Florida, didn’t like it, and came half way back.
So come on up, the more the merrier.
